Going back, to me, is the most important skill to learn when developing your own individual art historical lens. I also guiltily go through museums way too quickly during the first visit. Going back and visiting "old friends and acquaintances" deepens my understanding of the work, but also the greater picture that art plays in my life. Thank you for this article.
